11mo. old rottie vomiting and diarrhea for 2 dayd and white stool too

I've been giving my rottie marrow bones for months, but now all of a sudden, she has a pure white stool, has been vomiting about 5 or 6 times each day for 2 days and has diarrhea now.

The only thing different that I've given her is cow hooves. What could be wrong with her? I will certainly take her to the vet. if she continues this way tomorrow.

Hi Lisa
White stools can be caused by eating bones, so if she's getting regular marrow bones I would assume that's the problem.

If you stop giving them to her you should see her stools return to 'normal' for her within a week or so. If they remain white after a this time frame then I'd have her checked out by your vet to see if there's some underlying health problem causing it.

Dog diarrhea can be caused by a whole host of things, and in this case I would suspect the cow hooves. If the dog actually eats them (which these large breeds tend to do) then they can most certainly cause diarrhea, perhaps vomiting too.

However, it's always better to be safe than sorry so if I were you I'd have her examined by your vet and get a stool sample analyzed just to be certain that she doesn't have an infection or parasites causing her tummy upsets.

Hope this helps, best of luck with your pup.
