rottweiler puppy love of rottweilers

my rottie max

My rottie just turned 9 months of age, and i was just curious on how tall he should be and how much he should weigh?

He's a big boy he's pushing 70 pounds, is that a normal weight for him an he's 23 inches tall, how big should he be for his age?

Hi
There aren't any 'hard and fast' rules about size/weight as all Rottweilers are different and their growth and mature size depends a lot on bloodlines(body type and bone structure are hereditary), and also on the type of nutrition they get as puppies.

At 7 months old, 70lbs is about average for a well-bred Rottweiler, and I would guess that your Rottie is going to reach around 120lbs at maturity. Do remember that this breed is slow to mature, and he won't reach adulthood until at least 18 months, maybe 2 years or longer.

Rottweilers get their full height first, then continue to put on weight for several months before reaching their 'full potential'.

The correct height for a mature male Rottweiler is between 24 and 27 inches (measured at the shoulder), so again Max is right around average now.

Visit my Rottweiler Puppy Growth Chart page to learn more about the development and growth rate of this breed.

Just make sure that Max is getting the best puppy food possible to help prevent bone/joint problems and give him all the nutrition he needs to grow up big and strong.

Don't ever be tempted to try to get a Rottie pup to grow bigger, or faster, than is normal for him. That can lead to all sorts of health issues.

Hope this helps, best of luck with Max.
