Jenna

Jenna came to live with us while her daddy (my son) was deployed to Iraq.. When he returned, she went back to live with him :(…. I was heartbroken so we went and bought for a small dog to help fill the void.

Well circumstances came up and she is now back with us, for good this time. So now we have two dogs but I love them both.

Some say she is not full blood Rott but all of the papers/lineage/etc…that we have say she is….your opinion!!!

Shirl – Jenna does look as though she may have some heritage other than Rottweiler, but if her papers all say that she is and you saw her parents, then chances are that she’s purebred. Genes are funny things and can conspire to produce a wide variety of looks in any dog, purebred or otherwise.

It sounds as though she’s a wonderful dog regardless and I know that you love her very much whether she is 100% Rottie or not. If you’re curious though and would like to know whether or not she has another breed in her genetic makeup there are DNA tests that you try. These simply involve you taking a swab of her cheek at home and then sending the sample away to the diagnostic lab. You’ll get back the results showing what breeds make up her background.

You can find out more about these here.. Purebred DNA Kit. Best of luck to you all 🙂

You have a champ NEW
by: Scott

I’ve only had Rottweilers for 20 years and the information you’ve received so far is right on the money.
The choosing of a purebred is good for judging the personality of the dog your getting, remember unless you’re planning to show your dog having a purebred means little.
BESIDES… you know the parents, you’ve got papers- better yet, you know your dog and he sounds great.
He’s blessed to have you as his forever home.
