Beginning of bald patches on elbows.

Chippy is beginning to develop bald patches on her elbows. What could be the cause and remedy?

Rottweilers are heavy dogs, and if they spend a lot of time lying on hard surfaces they can develop 'calluses' on their elbows - sometimes on their rear legs too. I'd guess this is what's happening.

The best thing to do is make sure that Chippy has a soft bed to protect her joints from the 'wear and tear' of hard floors, ground etc.

It's nothing serious to worry about, but she would be more comfortable on a soft surface and that should allow these calluses to improve.
