BARKING ROTTWEILER?

WHY MY ROTTIE BARKS EVERYTIME I'M IN A DISTANCE WITH HER AND TALKING TO SOMEONE?

Hi
Rottweilers tend to bond closely with their owners and your dog may simply be upset that you are away from her, and perhaps a bit jealous that someone else is getting your attention.

Or perhaps she is expressing her desire to 'protect' you and is barking to warn whoever you are with that she is your guardian.

Either way, this seems natural to her, but it is something you want to try to discourage as she needs to learn that she can't be right next to you at all times, and that most other people are friendly and need to be accepted without question if you say so.

Don't give her attention when she barks like this, simply ignore the behavior. If she barks at people when you are both close to them, correct her firmly with a "no bark" command and a quick tug on her collar.

Formal training sessions are the best way to learn how to train your dog properly, and are invaluable for hands-on tips and advice, plus they're an excellent socialization experience for the pup/dog. I'd recommend enrolling your pup in a training class if you haven't already done so.

Best of luck.
